“... in fact my energy has been really great since the last two (acupuncture treatments).  I was optimistic, but really had little expectation other than to learn more a little about Chinese medicine.  Dr. Wu really is just what you need in the office - he is easy to trust and talk to.  The results are very interesting - it feels powerful…
Dr. Wu has also been working on my back, which has been sore for a couple months.  This last treatment really helped - it's a nerve pain that runs down my leg and when I got up this morning I walked without pain for the first time in months…”

Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture has been an alternative medical system that benefits tens of thousands of North Americans. It provides treatment and resolution of many health problems that receive poor explanation and treatment through conventional means.

Your visit with Dr. Wu at Chronos Apollo begins with an in depth consultation and evaluation of your complete health. After obtaining a full and complete understanding of your health, you will be treated with a 'whole body' approach. This means that any, and all your health complaints are addressed simultaneously, and thoroughly. You do not have to make a different appointment for each symptom that you have.

A 'body-mind' approach to healing is integral to the practice of acupuncture at Chronos Apollo. Dr. Wu gives you complete and deep relaxation when required; and can help you reduce anxiety and improve sleep as well.

Acupressure points on the body are stimulated by needles or massage.  With an experienced Doctor, acupressure massage can provide benefit for those that are weary of trying acupuncture.

SOME SPECIFIC CONDITIONS THAT
DR. WU TREATS

Infertility

Infertility is a health condition that afflicts many couples. Modern life and stress, poor nutrient and hormone balance affect fertility. With fertility treatments being so costly, many couples turn to acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine for help.

Sexual dysfunction

Another health complaint that receives poor treatment through conventional medicine. Vitality, vigor and performance can be improved with Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture.

Back Pain

Back pain will affect over 70% of people at some point in their lives. Pain killers simply take away the symptom. Most times, repeated visits to a doctor will reveal no cause for the pain; and Xrays are not helpful either. Acupuncture is exceptionally good for providing quick relief of pain; and long term resolution of the underlying problem. Even mild to moderate symptoms of sciatica can be treated with acupuncture.

Nerve Pain

Neuropathy is a very painful condition. Inflammation of the nerves results from trouble with blood sugar (Diabetes), vitamin deficiencies and other causes. The treatment with medication results in other terrible side effects like drowsiness, poor concentration and mental alertness, dependence, weight gain and dry mouth. Acupuncture can provide quick relief from the pain and improve the degree of pain and inflammation with regular treatments; without the side effects of many of the drugs used to treat this condition. Acupuncture can be safely used in combination with medications routinely used to treat these conditions, so that you will need less of a medication that causes side effects.

Why acupuncture?

Over 15 million Americans have turned to Alternative Medicine, making it the complementary treatment of choice for Americans everywhere. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers a wide variety of techniques to diagnose and treat many diseases by addressing the unique health conditions of each individual patient. It is a holistic medical system composed of several sophisticated techniques.

According to Chinese medical theory, the presence of any pain or illness is an indication that the energy, which flows through the body, is weakened or obstructed. Acupuncture and Herbal medicine can alleviate pain and illness, relieve stress and strengthen your immune system.

Acupuncture literally means "needle piercing". It is the practice of inserting very fine needles into the skin to stimulate specific anatomic points in the body (called acupoints) for therapeutic purposes. Acupuncture helps the energy to flow into areas where it is deficient and to flow away from areas where it is in excess. By balancing the energy flow, the body is able to make self-adjustments to promote health.

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an important part of a Traditional Chinese Medicine system with a history of over 2500 years.  Already used widely throughout Asia and Europe, Acupuncture is considered one of the newest primary health care modalities in the US.

Acupuncture can strengthen the physical body, prevent disease, control pain, calm the mind, enhance health, assist in sports performance, addiction withdrawal, and achieve longevity. (from Santa Monica Acupuncture and Wellness)

Acupuncture is a system of healing which has been practised in China and other Eastern countries for thousands of years. Although often described as a means of pain relief, it is in fact used to treat people with a wide range of illnesses. Its focus is on improving the overall well being of the patient, rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body's motivating energy - known as Qi - moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of meridians (channels) beneath the skin.

Qi consists of equal and opposite qualities - Yin and Yang - and when these become unbalanced, illness may result. By inserting fine needles into the channels of energy, an acupuncturist can stimulate the body's own healing response and help restore its natural balance. The flow of Qi can be disturbed by a number of factors. These include emotional states such as anxiety, stress, anger, fear or grief, poor nutrition, weather conditions, hereditary factors, infections, poisons and trauma. The principal aim of acupuncture in treating the whole person is to recover the equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual.
