Dr. Natasha Iyer is the founder and medical director of the Chronos Apollo Anti-aging, Wellness & Medical Aesthetics Clinic. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree in South Africa. She has over a decade of experience in caring for patients both in hospitals and medical clinics.
Her vision is to provide you with a sanctuary in which to achieve perfect balance of mind and body; and to receive expert advice and guidance to achieve your best health. Her goal is to help you renew your life by performing at your physical and mental peak.
She has extensive experience in Emergency medicine and Surgical medicine. She has post graduate training in Women’s Health, Obstetrics & Gynecology and Pediatrics.
This experience allowed her to become a skilled clinician when working in Emergency Departments, dealing with trauma and life-threatening emergencies. It also revealed to her that people (like herself) work under great stress and are completely unaware of it; because they enjoy what they do.
Dr. Iyer’s work in third world circumstances in South Africa and practicing rural medicine in Northern Alberta has certainly influenced her understanding of the different approaches needed for each patient on an individual basis. She has a keen interest in preventive medicine and anti-aging. This interest has led her to some of the world’s leading experts in anti-aging medicine and bio-identical hormone replacement. Currently, Dr. Natasha Iyer is enrolled in a Master's Degree in Anti-aging and Functional Medicine through the University of South Florida.
With this experience, she looks at the complete medical situation of her patients. She acknowledges the intricate and complex relationship between the body and mind and incorporates this into her patient care programs.
Dr. Iyer helps you incorporate holistic and natural choices into your treatment programs. Her current areas of interest are:
a) Stress and the effects on your body and mind.
b) Chronic Pain
c) Nutritional Therapy for medical conditions. eg. Headaches, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia.
Her passion is to help patients feel their best. Far too often, people accept how they feel and function (suboptimally) and are completely oblivious that they can feel and perform like they did in their 20's and 30's.
Dr. Iyer still actively practices emergency medicine. She enjoys the adrenalin of saving lives and making a difference to the outcome of a patient's condition. In a similar vein, she enjoys the rewards of helping someone feel their best - taking them to functioning at their peak mentally and physically; from a place of fatigue; ill health and despair.
She has a special passion and flair for medical aesthetics and office surgical procedures. This completes the services she provides at Chronos Apollo. Helping patients feel more confident when they look younger (as they feel younger) gives her a special feeling of accomplishment.
Dr. Iyer’s approach to health is comprehensive. She has helped over a thousand patients lose weight, and now utilizes knowledge of hormone effects on weight gain to achieve effective and long term weight loss.
Dr. Natasha Iyer has launched the Everlasting Weight Loss program at Chronos Apollo with 2 unique features: looking at hormones that affect weight gain and inhibit weight loss; and how emotions affect our weight.
Dr. Iyer’s anti-aging programs encompass the important aspects of sound nutrition, stress reduction, fitness and hormone balance. She takes pride in helping patients restore their energy, reduce their risk for serious illness and get truly healthy.
Dr. Iyer has also been a teacher of medical students and involved with preceptoring International Medical Graduates in order to integrate more doctors into the Canadian Medical system. Dr. Natasha Iyer has been interviewed by CTV, CBC, Global TV and BTV; National magazines Chatelaine and Esteem. She has been the cover story on Mompreneur magazine and featured in the SouthPeace News. Listen to her interview on Podcast at www.themompreneur.com
