SALIVA TESTING

WHAT IS IT?

Specific hormone levels are measured in saliva (“spit”)

WHY NOT JUST BLOOD TESTS?

Many hormone levels change throughout the day. How much is ‘free’ for your body to use depends on other hormone and protein levels.

Blood gives us a ‘snapshot ’- a picture of what is happening in the body at one particular moment.
Usually, blood measures a total level of hormone present. This may not actually be available for use by your body’s cells.

During your comprehensive medical examination at Chronos Apollo, you receive extensive blood testing in conjunction with saliva testing. This gives us more information to fully understand your state of health.

WHY SHOULD I CONSIDER A SALIVA TEST?

Saliva testing will benefit you especially when your ‘blood tests are normal’ and you do not feel your best. Saliva testing also helps you to receive certain natural therapies and stay within a physiological range (this means that we try to keep levels replenished to only within normal ranges).

Saliva is collected in the comfort and privacy of your home. Simply mail it to the lab in the enclosed return envelope.

Medical science confirmed the validity of saliva testing for hormones in the body. Over 350 scientific papers have been written about saliva testing and published in very reputable medical journals.

The American government uses saliva testing to evaluate astronauts, military and Navy personnel. This is because it has been proven to be a superior test, especially when evaluating the response to stress. Stress hormones in the body change frequently throughout the day.

Anti-aging physicians across America are now speaking more about the use of saliva testing in helping prevent illness and disease; and monitoring the stress hormones that cause the body to age more quickly; get diseased and disabled.

Bio-identical hormone replacement therapy is commonly based on the results of saliva tests.
Bio-identical hormone therapy is monitored by saliva testing.

Saliva testing is not an insured service.
