Hi there, Dr. Iyer

I wanted to let you know that I am feeling great. My energy levels are consistently high and my mood is noticeably improved.  My mood improved 200% when …finally finished.
 
I tested my new energy levels in Arizona this week. Before the (treatment) I consistently lost all energy, muscle strength and interest in golf about 3 hours into the game. In Scottsdale, I finished 18 holes in 4.5 hours, played well and recovered even better. It was hot - about 95F when we finished but I still had good energy through the afternoon and evening - what a treat! I also spent another afternoon in the local gym & pushed myself hard with weights & cardio intervals. Although disappointed that my muscles still screamed during my workout:), my recovery was noticeably better. I felt great instead of tired when I was done and had energy through the afternoon/evening. I also didn't have the typical muscle pain over the next couple days. Travelling typically triggers fatigue for a couple weeks and this trip hasn't slowed me down yet . . . I had a great first day back at work and in fact, I had a little too much energy for the office today…. I plan to get on the treadmill more often between training sessions to help manage my energy; the feeling is familiar but it's been a long time since I've felt like this…..

Dear Dr. Iyer

… I am pleased to say that I am feeling not as anxious and I have been able to handle stress as it arises.  That in its self is incredible.  Thank you very much.  It was not enjoyable when even the smallest thing, seemed like another mountain to overcome.  I plan to be a lot more diligent about finishing the pills, and will call in for an appointment shortly….
 
Again, thank you for all of your concern and I am excited about living a balanced, healthy and strong life.  I believe it will be a reality.

Dr. Iyer,
Here are my observations of the results to date.
I thought I was starting to feel better in early June and perhaps was on balance however, the change with (the prescribed bio-identical treatment) was as you had suggested, quite dramatic for me.  Within a few days and certainly within a week I noticed the following.

1. Interest and focus returning, chronic depression lifting - for example, I went to the library and took out a whole bunch of books which I read.  This is a huge step as a I had lost most interest in things I really enjoy such as reading.  I attended yoga camp and enjoyed it.  I think about going back to work.

2. Sleep, glorious sleep - I slept through the night almost all the time and actually had dreams.  I am getting quite well rested.

3. Not as irritable.

4. Energy levels on the upswing, especially after the DHEA.

5. My thoughts are more focused and my memory is better, hence the reading.
   
6. I had much reduced problem of grey outs.

7. I still needed to eat regularly.

8. Starting to be more open to having fun again, but not all the way there.

 My friends couldn't believe how great I looked...thought it was weight loss and a hair cut,  but after a day I finally told them.  They thought it was awesome....and that I had guts.  Anyhow no one at work has asked....but I hear compliments everyday about how great I look..."Your haircut has taken 10years off of you"..little do they know, I haven't done anything different to my hair.  I think the whole procedure was great.  I can't wait for the after picture.

 I would like to comment on how much better my skin looks and feels following the recent laser treatment I had at your clinic. I notice my skin is softer, more evenly textured and much of the blotchiness and scarring has disappeared or at least faded considerably. After several years of problems with adult acne as well as some sun damage, I had many deep scars and discoloration in certain areas of my face. I usually had to wear make-up and concealer to get the results that I see now without any need for make-up. I am very pleased with the results and would not hesitate to recommend the treatment. Although the procedure itself was a bit uncomfortable, I never found it to be painful, and the preparation and follow-up I received from your staff was excellent. Because the peel needed to be a deeper peel due to my scars, the healing process was a little longer but I would have to say it progressed beautifully and was completely healed within about 10 days.

Thank you again, and as I said, I would recommend the treatment without hesitation.

Jan is a lady who has had nerve pain since her teen years. She has had chronic pain as part of her life; and bordered on giving up on life at least twice. She had a mechanical pump implanted into her abdomen to release pain medications into her spine as a last resort.

Once, she almost died from an incorrect amount of medication given through this pump.

She is now on one tenth of medication; walks without her wheelchair; and has been able to lose 20 pounds through exercise and healthful eating; so that she can be more mobile and free.

I thought it may be helpful for both of us to review the progress we have made during the last year of acupuncture treatments.  Your file has the physical details of your work, these are my thoughts on our progress.

Twenty years of severe pain and bed rest have played a key role in my life and in who I am.  When I first met you, I was completely without hope.  I have tried so many times to force my body into some kind of healing (surgery, various treatments, physiotherapy, braces, crutches, drug therapy), all with disastrous consequences.  I am a very proud and fiercely independant person, and having to give up my job, my ability to walk, and my personal freedom has been challenging to say the least.  The most humbling experience I have ever had was when I had to give in to using a wheelchair.  This did not come easy to me, I tried to walk for many years.  When I finally agreed to get into that chair, the pain was so overwhelming and I was so weakened that I couldn't even count how many seizures I had in a day, they just kept on coming.  In fact, I was too sick to even use the chair by that time, I was constantly in bed.  I have felt like I was an animal caught in a trap.  I could not afford the luxury of self pity, however, as this would have been the end of me and the end of my ability to love my family.  To be able to love my family was all I had left.

Our first few treatments were difficult for me.  They were painful, and sometimes the pain worsened during and after the treatment.  It also seemed to release a stored energy that was all of a sudden released and I would feel like I could explode.  There were moments, however, that the pain would change and come down to a level that I had not experienced in years.  This gave me a small amount of hope and hope was a new emotion for me.

Over the course of many months, the pain has changed considerably.  Although it can still get to very high levels, it also has the capability of coming down to zero.  I remember telling you that one day, and you asked me, "how long does the pain stay at zero", and I replied, "long enough to notice"!

It would seem now that the worst of the pain, the searing deep burning pain which had been my constant companion, is no longer there.  There is still pain, but that particularily nasty sensation is gone for now.  It does come back to some degree when I push too hard, but it is completely controllable.

The healing process has been interesting, both the exciting parts and the harsher realities of so many shifts.  The drug reductions, the demands of being upright again after so many years of bed rest and the subsequent neck and face pain, and the lack of sleep have been the most difficult.  In spite of the challenges, I am finding the journey fascinating, exciting and I can hardly wait to see what will happen next..

You have been there to support, care and encourage me each week.  Your talent and gift in healing is boundless.  I have come to admire and care for you very much as my doctor, and also as my friend.  I look forward to seeing your work in the future, as you are still a young man and have much to do in life.

I find myself now with an audacious hope.  And you should really look this word up in your dictionary, as it is big.  I am hoping to walk, to work, to be completely off all medication, to be able to live again freely.  This kind of talk really scares Greg as he has had to watch me suffer and he is afraid I will be too disappointed if it doesn't all happen.  But I will not be disappointed with anything.  Even now, I would be very happy to live with these levels of pain.  I will accept whatever limitations I may be left with without question.  It is only that I will hope for and do everything I can to achieve these other, more audacious goals,
